child within

kids have the uncanny ability to watch a movie over and over and over.
and over.
and yes, you guessed it, over.

it's endearing.
either that or unnerving.
depending on the movie.

thank heavens we grow out of it and as adults no longer clammor for more of the same thing.
am i right?

newness! originality! that's what i crave.
i feel absolutely no enthusiasm or anticipation for the same old stuff.
none.

um... i swear.

i don't want to talk about it anymore.

um.. ok, i concur with your rocky assessment.... but IJ4? this movie HAS to be made. those three films are arguably some of the best action/adventure films ever made, and lack repetition between the three. people have wanted this movie for years, and if they can do it well, with an original story, why not give fans what they want?

at last! my dreams of being an archaeologist will, yet again, be fulfilled in the form of indiana jones! i mean, lara croft was pretty sweet, but i don't have the rack to pull that type of archaeologist off.

I just want to know when Top Gun 2 (or as us enthusiasts call it, TG2) is coming out...

i was going to make a joke about how it's kind of like making another police academy movie. but i wanted to know how many there were exactly so i could say... "hey! hurry up and make police academy 7!" (because yes... in my search i found out that there are in fact 6 police academy movies!) but my little joke ran awry when i realized that somebody was already on it...

Originality is too much of a crap shoot for businessmen in Hollywood.

Sequels make big bucks.

Um, selling out sucks.

Ah, Harrison Ford is getting a little too old.

Yeah, I'm, um, appalled too.

As for Indiana Jones IV... I believe they announced the movie like five years ago and then decided they didn't like the script so they trashed the idea... On a brighter note, they had casted Sean Connery and Harrison Ford to be in it again. I don't know if they've done it again for this go around, but I'll be sure to watch!
